Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a neuroscience major?

No! We have and welcome members from any and all majors. All we ask is that you're interested in behavioral or brain science.

How do I become an active member?

  • Attend 2 general body meetings per semester
    (we hold around 4 per semester)

  • Attend 1 volunteer event per semester

  • Attend 1 social event per semester

  • Pay $15 per semester OR $25 per year THEN fill out the payment form
    (via cash at GBM's or Venmo @UTDNSA with netID and full name in notes)


An active membership isn't required to attend any of our general body meetings, but there are many benefits to becoming an active member:

  • Free T-shirt

  • Priority at events with limited attendees

  • Attend active member only events

    • Faculty events such as Lunch-and-Learns

    • MCAT Study Sessions

    • UTD and UTSW Lab Tours

    • End of the Year Banquet

    • and so much more…

  • Eligibility to vote and run for officer positions

How do I stay up to date with NSA?

NSA has many forms of communication

  • WEBSITE: Visit our event calendar page to find all the events we have planned for the month. Keep in mind that this page only works on a desktop, mobile view is limited. Fill out the RSVP form found in the event details if attending. (This page is updated periodically with new events. Check frequently for the latest updates!)

  • INSTAGRAM: Follow us on instagram to keep up with event updates and opportunities. Look out for flyer posts, story updates, and more!

  • GROUPME: Join our GroupMe! It's NSA's insider chat where we not only post our event updates, but also opportunities, share tips, and other insider info we don't post to our Instagram.
